National Accident Helpline today announces the launch of Creating Waves, a competition for budding creatives and students of marketing. Creating Waves invites entrants to submit a script for a 30-second radio commercial focused on the company’s Stop Nuisance Calls campaign.
The winner will have their commercial produced by voiceover artistes in a professional studio, with support from National Accident Helpline’s creative agency The Gate, and played out on local radio. Recording will take place in MediaCityUK in Salford at the studios of audio experts On the Eighth, who will provide mentoring and direction on the day. Runners up will receive personalised critiques of their entries.
The competition will be judged by Beth Powell, National Accident Helpline Marketing Director, and Alistair Ross, Creative Partner at The Gate, the creative agency responsible for National Accident Helpline’s successful Underdog TV advertising campaign which has been running since 2010.
Beth Powell, Marketing Director at National Accident Helpline, said:
“As the market-leading advertiser in our sector, we understand the power of advertising and we’re keen to share some of our knowledge with the next generation of marketing professionals.
“This initiative offers entrants an amazing opportunity to have their work critiqued and produced by industry experts before being played out live on radio.”
Alistair Ross, Creative Partner at The Gate, said:
“National Accident Helpline have the most recognisable brand voice that champions the underdog.
“It’s no surprise to me, then, that they support young talent looking to break into the advertising industry, giving them a platform to have their creative voices heard through the medium of radio.
“I’m thrilled to be involved in the judging.”
