Thames Water Plead Guilty To Work Negligence

Thames Water have pleaded guilty to negligence four years after an accident that killed long-time employee Raymond Wyer, and have been ordered to pay over £300,000 in compensation to his family. The 59-year-old was due to retire after working at the company’s Walthamstow-based Coppermill Lane plant for 30 years. In 2010, Wyer was working in a confined space when a maintenance vehicle reversed into him, ending his life and fuelling a negligence case that has made the headlines in the last week.
