Accidents Abroad
to make a claim if you have
been injured abroad
Since the enactment of the Package Travel, Package Holiday and Package Tour Regulations 1992 and the 4th European Union Motor Insurance Directive 2003, it has become much easier for holidaymakers to make claims following accidents abroad on their return to the UK.
Tour operators are responsible for making sure all accommodation is safe and hygienic and that guests are not exposed to any risks during their holiday. If this duty of care has been broken, any customer suffering personal injury, distress, loss or damage abroad may well have a valid claim against their tour operator in the UK.
Of course, not all holidays are part of a package. If you organised your own holiday or business trip, your compensation claim would probably still be subject to the law of that country, and would have to be made there. But the National Accident Helpline™ can put you in touch with specialist solicitors who have experience in dealing with these sorts of claims.
