Creating Waves

02 Sep, 2015/ by National Accident Helpline /Community News, News

Our Creating Waves winner, Michael Kettles, from Huddersfield, has had his script transformed into a radio advertisement.

As part of his prize for winning Creating Waves, the University of Huddersfield graduate travelled to Salford and sampled life as a creative advertiser. Michael was given the opportunity to record his script professionally in a studio provided by On the Eighth, audio engagement experts based on the eighth floor of MediaCityUK.

Following a pre-production meeting in which he was able to benefit from professional advertising expertise, Michael saw his Stop Nuisance Calls script transformed into a 30-second advertisement that will be broadcast on local radio.

On the Eighth's Stuart Morgan said: “It's great to support emerging talent and we were really impressed by Michael's work. He really captured what the National Accident Helpline campaign was all about and his script satisfied the brief perfectly.”

The judging panel was made up of National Accident Helpline's Marketing Director, Beth Powell, and Alistair Ross, Creative Partner at advertising agency The Gate.

A big thank you to National Accident Helpline and The Gate for holding the competition and allowing advertising hopefuls a chance to make their mark. Winning the Creating Waves competition is a great boost.

- Michael Kettles, Creating Waves Winner

Creating Waves was a competition for budding creatives and marketing students. It invited entrants to submit a script for a 30-second radio commercial, focused on our campaign to Stop Nuisance Calls.

Michael won Creating Waves for his entry which, according to National Accident Helpline's Beth Powell, stood out “because of his entertaining and spirited interpretation of the brief.” To listen to Michael's advertisement click the audio below.
