What's the difference between a fracture and broken bone?
So if you’ve been diagnosed with a fracture, it doesn’t mean that you’ve suffered a less severe injury, as is the common misconception, because fractures, like broken bones, can range from a single fracture to an open break (compound fracture) or crush (comminuted fracture).
It’s useful to know what type of fracture you’ve suffered when you contact us, but don’t worry if you don’t have this information. You can simply tell us where your injury is, for example, shoulder, wrist or thigh.

Broken bones and fractures at work
Suffering an accident at work can be an isolating experience. We know that people often feel like their “on the job” experience should have protected them from an injury and therefore, they might not have a claim, but quite simply experience isn’t enough.

Broken bones and fractures from road traffic accidents
We know that anybody who suffers a road traffic accident can be left traumatised and can then feel anxious about being a passenger, cyclist or driver. Road accidents have the ability to make us feel nervous in what were once comfortable situations, as well as causing serious physical injury.
